I was born in Miami Florida in 1950, my parents are Italian and Cuban first generation American. I feel that I got the best of both worlds, with their Spanish and Italian art heritages as part of my life. If I had to point to one trigger that got me into art it was of all things a TV show. Everyday Monday thru Friday on ABC at 4:00-4:30 came on "Dark Shadows©". I would get home from school as fast as I could to see it, I guess the portraits of Barnabas Collins and the creepy house of Collinwood with surrounding landscape fired up my art imagination. That show was filled with 19th century art and furnishings. It started me into portraits and landscapes, that continue to this day.
